Phlebotomy Certification & EKG Training (PCT & MA Only)

medical assistant training

Note: Phlebotomy/EKG training is part of our Patient Care Technician & Medical Assistant program curriculum. We are currently not offering Phlebotomy/EKG training as a standalone program.

We encourage students to apply to our Patient Care Technician training course or Medical Assistant programs. These are ideal for students with little or no medical experience as they’re comprehensive. Phlebotomy & EKG training is an important part of these programs.

EKG technician training combined with Phlebotomy training instructs the students on multiple medical laboratory techniques. Students will primarily be responsible for collecting blood samples to use in testing procedures. In addition, the student will be able to collect other types of specimens such as throat, urine, stool, and culture. Students will also be able to analyze a basic EKG and take routing EKG.

Upon graduating and attaining their certification, students should be able to take on appropriate tasks for a phlebotomist, understand their role in paper work for lab work, collect blood samples as well as non-blood samples, and perform drug tests as well as procedures.
